15. Fine Times at our House

This version is from the Hammons recordings of both Burl and Edden. A comparison of the two settings, a generation apart is noteworthy for the slight melodic and timing differences. We have chosen from Burl’s performance, which comes from his uncle Neal. The tune bears a “vague resemblance” to an old Scots tune “Crieff Fair,” labeled “from Bremner, 1760.” (Bayard)
